I was on 40-day meditation, says Sheikh Rashid

Says X, formerly Twitter, got me down as except tweets there were nothing against him.

ISLAMABAD: Awami Muslim league (AML) chief and former interior minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed appeared in a TV interview after being picked by law enforcement agencies over a month back and said he had gone on a 40-day meditation.

Sheikh Rashid, who was an ally of former prime minister and PTI chief Imran Khan, said he was with the military and also stand with them today. He said he had always advised Imran to always be in good terms with the army.

He said on May 9 he was out of the country and the very next day he condemned the violence. He said no politician should criticize any army officer by name. He said all the three PTI leaders nominated by Imran for talks with the army made their own party. 

He said the country cannot run without its organizations and politicians and military should jointly worked for the development of the country. He said he had also proposed to Imran twice to invited the army for talks but he did not accept the proposal.
