ISLAMABAD: In a major reshuffle, the federal government has removed Mohazzam Jah Ansari from his position as Inspector General (IG) of Police, Balochistan. Muhammad Tahir, a Grade-21 officer, has been appointed as the new IG Balochistan.
According to a notification issued by the Establishment Division, Muhammad Tahir was previously serving in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and will assume his new responsibilities with immediate effect, until further orders.
Muhammad Tahir brings with him extensive experience in law enforcement and administration. During his tenure in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, he held several key positions and was known for his efforts in police reforms and improving law and order.
The transfer of IG Balochistan comes at a time when the province continues to face security challenges, including militancy, tribal conflicts, and law enforcement capacity issues. Authorities hope that the new leadership will help strengthen the provincial police force and improve coordination with other security agencies.
