IHC issues notices on Imran’s plea against jail trial

Imran and Shah Mahmood Qureshi were indicted in cipher case on Wednesday.

ISLAMABAD: The high court of Islamabad on Thursday issued notices to the Federal Investigation Agency and a former secretary ministry of interior on a petition against the jail trial of former prime minister Imran Khan.

Imran’s petition that his trial in the jail in the cipher case was not legal and legal requirements had not been fulfilled in issuing such an order by the interior ministry.

Justice Mian Gul Aurangzeb issued the notices on the questions of not fulfilling the legal requirements in the trial.

It may be mentioned here that the former prime minister along with ex-foreign minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi were indicted in the cipher case on Wednesday.

The indictment was done by Special Court Judge Abual Hasnat Zulqarnain though the two PTI leaders pleaded not guilty.
