ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court, while hearing a case related to the posting of deputation officers and the restructuring plan of the National Highway Authority (NHA), has directed the Chairman of NHA to send the restructuring plan to the federal cabinet.

The court instructed the relevant NHA officer to appear before the court at the next hearing and ordered the collection of complete details of all deputation officers and staff working within the NHA.

Chief Justice Sarfraz Dogar issued a written order, stating that the Islamabad High Court had earlier granted NHA a deadline to submit the restructuring plan to the Cabinet Division.

However, during today’s hearing, the NHA’s lawyer requested for another delay, explaining that the matter is still under process and the plan has not yet been sent to the Cabinet Division. The petitioner, on the other hand, argued that despite five months having passed, the restructuring plan has not been forwarded.

The petitioner also claimed that NHA is deliberately prolonging the issue, which is causing unnecessary delays in implementing the plan.
