IMF Lauds Pakistan’s Economic Reforms

DAVOS: The International Monetary Fund has acknowledged Pakistan’s ongoing economic reform efforts, underlining the need to continue policy measures to strengthen long-term economic stability.

IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva expressed these views during her meeting with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on the sidelines of the 56th Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum in Davos.

The Prime Minister briefed the IMF chief on improving macroeconomic indicators, stabilization initiatives, and progress in structural reforms, reaffirming the government’s commitment to fiscal discipline, revenue mobilization, and sustainable growth.

The two sides also discussed the global economic outlook, challenges faced by emerging economies, and the role of multilateral support in ensuring economic stability.
