RAWALPINDI: Former prime minister Imran Khan has also been declared arrested in a case related to the arson attack on the GHQ Raealpindi on May 9, 2023.
The arrest order was passed by anti-terrorism court judge Malik Ijaz while taking up a case registered by the RA Bazar police.
The court however rejected a plea from the station house officer seeking physical remand of the former prime minister. The court ordered that the investigation of all cases related to the May 9 arson attacks and violence in which Imran Khan was nominated would be held in Adiala jail.
It may be mentioned here that Imran Khan is languishing in the jail in the cipher case. He was arrested on August 5, 2023, after being sentenced to three years in the Toshakhana case.
The sentence in the Toshakhana case was later suspended by the Islamabad High Court. The founder of the PTI party is also facing trial in the 190 million pound Al-Qadir Trust corruption case.
