Archrivals Imran and Molana Fazal burry the hatchet!

At first party level meeting, two sides discuss joint move against rigging and other issues.

ISLAMABAD: Yesterday’s foes becomes friends after both the embattled party of jailed Imran Khan and JUI-F of Molana Fazlur Rehman decided to burry the hatchet and work for their joint political cause.

The main factor that brought the arch rivals closer was the elections in which both the parties allege that their votes were stolen by the establishment.

After Molana Fazal’s press conference on February 7, in which he said parliament had lost its utility and he would now decide future course of politics on the field, PTI jailed founder hinted at negotiating with all parties except the PML-N and the PPP.

A delegation of the PTI led by former National Assembly speaker Asad Qaiser on Thursday night met Molana Fazal at his residence in Islamabad.

Asad Qaiser said he had been tasked by Imran Khan to hold talks with political and nationalist parties. He said he had conveyed Imran Khan’s message to the Molana.

During the meeting, the PTI delegation also sought JUI-F’s support for Omar Ayub who has been nominated as a candidate for the slot of the prime minister.

The two sides condemned systematic rigging in the Feb 8 general elections and vowed to expose the Election Commission of Pakistan for its failure to hold the elections in a free and fair manner.
