LAHORE: Aleema Khan, a sister of former prime minister Imran Khan, has complained that her brother was being kept in a very small cell at the district jail of Attock without proper facilities.
Talking to a TV channel, she said Imran Khan had served the nation as a star cricketer and then as a political leader for over 27 year but now his future hangs in the balance.
She said she was uncertain what would be the fate of all the cases against her brother in the courts. She added that cases against Imran Khan were part of political victimisation and a tactic to keep the PTI and its leadership away from elections.
It may be noted that Imran Khan has been arrested on Aug 5 in the Toshakhana case. A number of other cases are also registered against him in different cities.
He is also booked in the May 9 arson cases when he was first detained and then released on the direction of the Supreme Court.
Another case relates to a cipher from the Pakistan embassy in Washington in which it was alleged that America pressured Pakistan to remove him from power in 2021. The hearing of Imran’s plea for bail will be taken up by Islamabad High Court in a few days as the case has been fixed in the court.
