RAWALPINDI: PTI founder and former prime minister Imran Khan could be transferred from Adiala Jail to a specially prepared facility, according to media reports.
The transfer could take place following the verdict in the Toshakhana-II case.
The special jail has reportedly been established in the Qasim Market area of Rawalpindi, with all necessary arrangements and legal requirements fully completed.
There is also a possibility that Bushra Bibi may be transferred to the same facility. A dedicated 40-member prison staff has been assigned to the special jail since July 31, with DSP Prisons Aamir Fayyaz Bhatti entrusted with its overall responsibility.
Additionally, personnel from the Attock, Chakwal, and Jhelum jails, totaling around 40 members, have been transferred to Rawalpindi to serve in this facility.
Sources revealed that the DIG Prisons for the Rawalpindi region, Rana Rauf, has issued official notifications regarding the staff transfers.
All necessary arrangements and infrastructure for the special jail have been completed, including security and monitoring protocols. The 40-member prison staff will remain stationed at the facility around the clock to ensure continuous supervision and security.
