RAWALPINDI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan on Tuesday refused to appear before the court in the GHQ attack case, citing health concerns.

The hearing was conducted inside Adiala Jail by Judge Amjad Ali Shah of the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in connection with the May 9 attack on the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi.

Imran Khan’s legal team, led by Advocate Faisal Malik, appeared before the court, while Special Prosecutor Zaheer Shah represented the prosecution. Prior to the proceedings, the court informed the defense that the jail trial had been resumed.

According to jail officials, the court sent three messages summoning the former prime minister to appear during the hearing. However, Imran Khan declined to attend, stating that he was unwell. His attendance was scheduled to be marked during the session, and both the prosecution and defense teams waited for over one hour and forty minutes for his appearance.

After hearing arguments from both sides, Judge Amjad Ali Shah adjourned the proceedings until October 20, 2025, without any further action.
