A convoy carrying Imran Khan left Adiala Jail through Gate No. 1 for the hospital. Islamabad Police personnel, an ambulance and Rescue 1122 vehicles were part of the security convoy.
Imran Khan’s sister, Dr Uzma Khan, and his personal physician, Dr Faisal, also accompanied him.
Hospital sources said special arrangements had been made for his medical examination. A team of six specialist doctors is expected to examine the PTI founder in the emergency department, after which a decision will be taken on whether he needs to be admitted.
The hospital has also completed additional security and medical arrangements in case Imran Khan is admitted for treatment.
The transfer comes after a court order directing authorities to facilitate Imran Khan’s treatment at a hospital. The government had earlier stated that it would comply with the court’s directions regarding his medical care.
