SRINAGAR: India has banned two more political parties in occupied Jammu and Kashmir for five years under its black law.

The Indian Home Ministry has issued a notification banning Mirwaiz Umar Farooq’s People’s Action Committee and the Jammu and Kashmir Ittehadul Muslimeen, accusing the organisations of involvement in separatist activities.

It may be recalled that the Modi government  has banned 10 political organizations of occupied Kashmir since 2019.

Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti has said that the ban on political organisations is another blow to the political scenario of Jammu and Kashmir.

She said that democracy is the protector of the rights of the citizens. The political agenda of suppressing the voices of the BJP is undermining the fundamental rights of Kashmiris, India should stop its cruel tactics.

India has deployed over half a million of its troops in the occupied territory for decades and has spread a wave of terror among the populace. Moreover, it tolerates no political activity to expose its cruelties in occupied Kashmir.
