ISLAMABAD: After Canada and USA, target killers of citizens hired by Indian intelligence agency RAW have been caught in Pakistan, Foreign Secretary Syrus Sajjad Qazi said on Thursday.
Speaking at a press conference here, he said Pakistani citizen Shahid Latif was murdered outside a mosque in Sialkot last year. After investigations, it transpired that the Indian agency had hired local people to murder Latif. Those involved in the killing at the behest of the Indian agency have been arrested and they have confessed to their crime, he added.
He also said that another Pakistani citizen Muhammad Riaz was murdered at a mosque in Rawalakot, Azad Kahmir. The Indian agency was also involved in his murder through a local agent, who has been arrested. The arrested persons have not only confessed to their involvement in the murders but also in acts of terrorism and violence in Pakistan.
The foreign secretary added that more cases were under investigation and details about the two murders have been finalized in which Yugeshakumar and Ashok Kumar Anand, the Indian agents, were involved in murdering Pakistani citizens through their local agents.
It may be noted that Canada and USA have already exposed Indian plans to kill Sikh separatist leaders living in Canada and the USA. Canada last year reduced its diplomatic engagements with New Delhi after finding Indian agents involved in the murder of Sikh leader, who was also a Canadian citizen.
