ISLAMABAD: India does not allow any sporting event involving Pakistan to run smoothly without trying to sideline Pakistan in vain.
As the Champion Trophy is scheduled to take place in Pakistan from next month the country first tried to sabotage the event by refusing to play in Pakistan and then agreed on a neutral venue for the matches with Pakistan.
Later, it fell so low that it tried not to print the name Pakistan on the t-shirt of its players taking part in the Championship.
Now under pressure to follow the ICC rule it has succumbed and announced that Indian team will wear the ‘logo’ shirt with the name of Pakistan in the Champions Trophy. This was confirmed by the BCCI on Wednesday.
According to the cricket website, Secretary of the Indian Cricket Board Devajit Saikia said that India will follow the guidelines of the ICC. In the Champions Trophy, the Indian jersey will have the official logo of the event, the Indian team will abide by the ICC rules.
According to media reports, the ICC had told the BCCI that the Indian team was bound to write Pakistan on the kit. Pakistan is the host of the tournament.
