The prisoners are expected to be brought to Attari by Indian officials, where Pakistani authorities will take custody of them before facilitating their return to Pakistan.
Diplomatic efforts for the release and repatriation of Pakistani citizens have reportedly been ongoing, with Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi working with Indian authorities on the matter.
Sources said the Attari–Wagah crossing has previously been used for the repatriation of Pakistani prisoners from India.
Further details about the prisoners, including the reasons for their detention, have not yet been disclosed.
