Indian Batsman Breaks Shahid Afridi’s Record for Most ODI Sixes
Indian cricketer Rohit Sharma has shattered the long-standing record of former Pakistani batsman Shahid Afridi by hitting 352 sixes in One Day International (ODI) cricket.
Rohit achieved this milestone in the first match of the ongoing ODI series against South Africa, where he opened the innings and scored 57 runs, including three sixes. With these three sixes, Rohit’s total number of sixes in ODIs now stands at 352, achieved over 269 innings.
The previous record for most sixes in ODIs was held by Shahid Afridi, who hit 351 sixes in 369 innings. On the third spot in this prestigious list is West Indies’ Chris Gayle, who has struck 331 sixes in 294 innings.
Not only does Rohit Sharma lead the way in ODIs, but he also holds the top spot for the most sixes across all three formats of international cricket. With a total of 645 sixes in ODIs, Tests, and T20Is combined, Rohit has established himself as the most prolific six-hitter in the history of the game. Chris Gayle follows closely behind with 553 sixes, while Afridi is in third place with 476.
