ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has summoned a senior diplomat of the Indian High Commission to the Foreign Office to protest against the violation of the ceasefire agreement on the Line of Control.
According to FO spokesman Zahid Hafeez Chaudhry, India violated the ceasefire agreement on the LoC on November 22 in Khoi Ratta. He said eleven innocent civilians were severely injured by the unprovoked firing of the Indian Army. The Indian occupying forces are constantly targeting the civilian population with heavy weapons and artillery on the LOC and working boundary, Zahid Hafeez added.
The spokesman said that India had violated the ceasefire agreement 2,820 times this year, killing 26 innocent civilians and injuring 245 others. According to the FO spokesman, India’s provocation was a threat to peace and security in the region, but that it could not divert the world’s attention from the situation in Occupied Kashmir. India must abide by the 2003 ceasefire arrangement and allow the UN Military Observer Mission to operate on the LOC, he urged.
According to the ISPR, the Indian Army opened fire on a wedding party in Jagjut village of LoC yesterday, injuring 11 innocent civilians. The Indian Army hit the wedding party with rockets and heavy mortars, which 11, six women and four children are included.
