Killing of Kashmiris by occupation forces continues

Report says at least 33 people killed in different parts of occupied territory in last six months

SRINAGAR: Indian forces continue killing innocent people in the occupied territory of Kashmir mostly on the pretext of military operations.

A report released by Kashmir Media Service has said that at least 33 innocent people, mostly youth, were killed by occupation forces in the last six months.

According to the report, 16 of the victims were killed in fake encounters in different areas of the occupied territory after picking them from their homes.

Over 2,500 people, including Hurriyat leader Firdous Ahmed Shah and former Kashmir High Court Bar Association President Mian Abdul Qayyum, were also arrested during this period, said the report.

Despite the rampant human rights violations and extra-judicial killings, the international community has failed to pressure India to implement the United Nations Security Council resolutions to resolve the decades-old issue of Kashmir.

Kashmiri political parties and human rights organizations have called upon the UN Security Council to honour its commitment and give the right of self-determination to the people of Kashmir.
