DUBAI: The JF-17 Thunder, Pakistan’s state-of-the-art fighter jet, once again captured global attention at the Dubai Airshow 2025.

This time, it wasn’t just the international audience that was impressed, Indian Air Force (IAF) personnel also couldn’t help but express their admiration for the aircraft. Several IAF officers were spotted taking photos with the JF-17 Thunder, showing their appreciation for the advanced technology and performance of the Pakistani jet.

According to Pakistani officials, during the event, IAF personnel also visited the Pakistani pavilion and showed interest in Pakistan’s advanced weaponry and aircraft. In a rare moment of camaraderie, Pakistani Air Force pilots extended a gesture of goodwill, inviting the Indian officers for tea. The IAF personnel, while politely declining the offer for tea, thanked the Pakistani pilots and opted for water instead.

“We always welcome our guests with open arms,” said Pakistani officials, underscoring the country’s spirit of professionalism and hospitality.

The admiration for the JF-17 Thunder extended beyond the official interactions. On social media, images surfaced showing Indian pilots and Air Force personnel taking photos with the jet in the display area, which sparked some light-hearted discussions and commentary. One Indian user on X (formerly Twitter) sarcastically remarked, “Pilots can smile together, but cricketers can’t shake hands?”, a reference to the ongoing tension between Indian and Pakistani cricketers.

Meanwhile, Pakistani social media users praised the professionalism of the Pakistan Air Force. One user commented on Facebook, “The Pakistan Air Force treats guests with professionalism and has no hesitation in offering ‘fantastic tea’ to anyone.”
