ISLAMABAD: Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb Khan has said that due to the prudent policies of the government, inflation has reduced from over 30pc to the single digit and all indicators were showing a positive trend.
Speaking at a press conference here on Sunday, the minister claimed that inflation had come down to 7 per cent from 38 per cent.
Aurangzeb Khan says prime minister will soon present an economic road map and all the four chief ministers have assured of their cooperation for further improvement of economy.
The minister said that during his recent meeting to the US, he had held productive meetings with donor agencies and others,a design they also acknowledged the positive indicators in the economy of Pakistan.
The ministers said that inflation and banks’ profit rate had come down which were a good indicators for a stable economy. More positive outcome are expected. He said that foreign reserves were also increasing in the country.
The minister also said that all sectors would have to play their role in ensuring further improvement in economy while reforms were being made in different sectors, especially in the tax collection to further improve revenue generation.
