According to foreign media reports, Ghalibaf said China’s call for regional collective security was consistent with a principle Iran has supported for years.

He said countries in the region should take responsibility for their own future and security, arguing that lasting stability could only be achieved through a new security structure developed by regional states themselves.

Ghalibaf added that Tehran had long urged regional countries to reduce their reliance on outside powers and strengthen security through mutual cooperation.

He said Iran was ready to cooperate with other countries in establishing a collective regional security mechanism.

Chinese President Xi Jinping recently presented a four-point strategy for creating a new security framework in the Middle East, emphasizing the need for regional peace, stability and cooperation.
