ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif received a telephone call from Iranian President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian, offering condolences over loss of lives during ongoing floods affecting various parts of Pakistan.
During the call, President Pezeshkian expressed sympathy for the families affected by the floods and offered any assistance that Iran could provide to support Pakistan during this challenging time. The gesture was described as an expression of solidarity with the “brotherly people of Pakistan.”
Prime Minister Sharif thanked the Iranian President for his thoughtful gesture and for extending support during the nation’s time of suffering. The Prime Minister also requested that his regards be conveyed to Iran’s Supreme Leader, His Eminence Ayatullah Ali Khamenei.
Both leaders expressed their anticipation for discussions at the upcoming Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit in Tianjin, China.
