Speaking to Iranian media, Naqdi said Iran’s new military doctrine would ensure that any future conflict would not necessarily remain confined to Iranian territory.
He did not name any specific country but said the ability to take the fight to an adversary’s territory was becoming an important part of Iran’s defence strategy.
Naqdi also claimed that the US defence budget is nearly 100 times larger than Iran’s, while asserting that the enemy’s 14 targets in the recent conflict had failed.
He said the new doctrine was aimed at giving Iran the military capability to move beyond a purely defensive posture and, if necessary, conduct operations in an opponent’s territory.
