Iran Puts Downed US MQ-9 Reaper Drone on Public Display

TEHRAN: Iran has put on public display a US MQ-9 drone that it says was shot down during a recent American attack, with images showing people taking photographs alongside the wreckage.

According to footage released by Iranian media, the drone has been placed on exhibition at a public square in Iran’s central province. Members of the public were seen gathering around the displayed aircraft and posing for pictures.

Iranian reports said the MQ-9 drone is valued at around $30 million.

The development came a day after the United States carried out airstrikes against targets in Iran and claimed that it had successfully completed its mission.

According to foreign media reports, the US strikes targeted locations including Qeshm Island, Ahvaz, Bandar Abbas, Sistan-Baluchistan and Hormozgan.

Iran has previously displayed US military equipment and aircraft it says were destroyed or brought down during confrontations with American forces.
