BAKU: The Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Group has officially launched its 2026 Annual Meetings in Baku, Azerbaijan, bringing together policymakers, financial experts, and development leaders from across its 57 member countries.
The event is being held under the patronage of Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev and carries the theme “Regional Integration for Sustainable Prosperity,” highlighting the growing importance of cross-border cooperation in achieving long-term economic development.
IsDB Group, a leading multilateral development institution rated AAA, said the theme aligns with its Ten-Year Strategic Framework (2026–2035), which prioritizes regional integration as a key pillar for inclusive and resilient growth.
Officials noted that this is the second time in 15 years that Azerbaijan is hosting the flagship event, following the 2010 meetings. The gathering brings together finance, economy, and development ministers, along with representatives from international financial institutions and global development organizations.
The meetings will include discussions on a wide range of issues, including Islamic finance, climate resilience, digital economies, trade connectivity, and innovation-driven development. Sessions will also focus on strengthening cooperation among member states and addressing shared socio-economic challenges.
Throughout the event, participants are expected to engage in high-level dialogues, networking sessions, and policy discussions aimed at promoting sustainable development and enhancing economic cooperation across the Islamic world and beyond.
