DHAKA: Pakistani Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar described his visit to Bangladesh as a moment of joy, speaking at an event at the Pakistani High Commission in Dhaka.
He expressed gratitude to the Bangladeshi government for the invitation and highlighted the historical and cultural ties between the two countries.
Dar noted that the visit, taking place after several years, underscores the strong brotherly relations between the peoples of Pakistan and Bangladesh.
He emphasized the importance of fostering cooperation with all stakeholders in Bangladesh and working together to promote peace, stability, and prosperity in the region.
The minister also pointed to challenges such as climate change and security threats, stressing the need for joint efforts to address these issues. He highlighted opportunities for expanded collaboration in trade and education, and noted Bangladesh’s key role in SAARC, advocating for greater regional integration.
Dar concluded by stating that the people of both nations seek relations built on mutual respect and understanding.
