ISI directed to trace leaker of Bushra Bibi’s call audio

IHC judge says report should be filed in 10 days about person who first shared clip on social media.

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court on Friday ordered the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) to trace the person who recorded and leaked a call audio of Bushra Bibi on social media and submit a report in 10 days.

The direction was issued by the court on a petition filed by Bushra Bibi, the wife of former prime minister and PTI chief Imran Khan.

In her petition, Bushra Bibi sought action against the person who recorded and leaked a phone conversation of her with her husband’s lawyer Latif Khosa.

While taking up the plea, Justice Babar Sattar wondered if such a leaked audio or video could be broadcast on national media.

The court in its order said that its copies should be sent to the heads of the ISI, FIA, PEMRA and PTA.

The judge said that it was very disappointing that while the court was already seized with a similar case another audio leak came to fore.

He said it seems that the state had no capacity to check such recording and their sharing or trace the culprits.

The court put off further hearing of the matter till December 20 with a direction to the authorities cc concerned to submit their reports.
