CAIRO: Even after so many months, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu seems not ready to go for a ceasefire in Gaza that has left over 40,000 people dead according to the Palestinian health authorities.
Israel launched the war in Gaza after Hamas carried out daredevil attacks on Israeli territory on October 7 last year, killed over 1,000 people and took away 251 others as hostages.
In the war, more than 40,000 people have been killed and these include women and children. Israel says its forces also killed Hamas commanders who were using civilian population as a shield.
However, despite killing so many people, the Israeli Prime Minister is not ready for a ceasefire. International media reports indicate that Israeli Prime Minister wants to eliminate all commands of Hamas group.
After killing Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Iran last month, now Israel has launched a track and trace operation to kill the new Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar.
According to the media reports, a joint team of Israeli and US forces conducted operations in different tunnels and other areas in Gaza but could not trace the Hamas leader.
In one of the latest operations, the join team was near to capture Sinwar but he escaped his hideout moments before the arrival of the team. The media reports said that Sinwar escaped in haste leaving behind about one million dollars and his coffee which was still hot.
According to the media reports, Israeli Prime Minister is not ready to agree on a ceasefire before killing or capturing Sinwar. In case Sinwar is eliminated, Israel would then announce that it has dismantled Hamas and would then agree on a ceasefire.
