Jobless graduates in occupied Kashmir hold protest
SOPORE (OCCUPIED KASHMIR): A large number of jobless graduates in agriculture field held a protest against unemployment and the regime’s inability even to fill vacant posts in the local university.
The protesters were holding placards and banners inscribed with slogans for acceptance of their demands. The students also chanted slogans against the regime and said that unemployment had made lives of thousands of graduates miserable.
A majority of the protesters were agriculture graduates and they said despite repeated demands the management of the local agriculture university was not filling the vacant posts on different pretexts.
They said that the jobless graduates had filed applications and complaints with the grievance cell of the government but no action was being taken on it.
This is a clear indication of lack of will to tackle the unemployment crisis particularly of the agricultural graduates, the protesters said.
Later, on the assurance of the local administration and the university management, the protesters ended the demonstration but warned that they would extend the move if their demands were not met.
