BARCELONA: Renowned journalist Ali Farqan, affiliated with Voice of America, launched his latest book “From May 9 to February 8” in Barcelona, with a large turnout of Pakistani expatriates and senior journalists. The chief guest was Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Faisal Karim Kundi.
The book documents major political developments in Pakistan from May 9, 2023, to February 8, 2024, and analyzes their societal impact.
Journalist Wasim Razaq praised Farqan’s dedication, noting his interviews became breaking news on national television.
Shahid Ahmed Shahid emphasized the need for impartial analysis, saying books preserve history and guide the future. Mohsin Raza Khan added that despite political and media restrictions, Farqan successfully documented these events.
Ali Farqan thanked supporters and described the book as a historical record, featuring interviews with key political figures, including former President Arif Alvi and former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. The Consul General of Barcelona highlighted the importance of reading and responsible journalism.
Governor Faisal Karim Kundi lauded Farqan’s work and stressed civic engagement, peace in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and the role of education in addressing national challenges.
The event concluded with widespread appreciation for Farqan’s contribution to chronicling a pivotal period in Pakistan’s political history.
