JUI chief demands polls without establishment’s interference

Says after every military operation, terrorism in country increased by tenfold.

ISLAMABAD: JUI-F chief Molana Fazlur Rehman has said that his party does not accept the results of the Feb 8th 2024 elections as these were rigged.

He said free and fair elections should be held and for this the establishment and Intelligence agencies should stay away. 

The JUI chief was addressing a press conference at the conclusion of a two-day meeting of the party’s Majlise Shura on Sunday. 

The Molana saud that the results of the Feb 8th elections were not acceptable and his party would continue its movement against the rigging in the elections.

He said the current government has not capacity to meets his demands, adding all patties would have to develop consensus to resolve the issue of interference in political process once and for all.

About the planned operation called operation Istihkam e Pakistan, he said even agencies had no consensus on it. The JUI chief said that whenever there was an operation terrorism increased by manifold, so military operations were not a solution to terrorism.

He said the public suffered losses of billions of rupees in the military operations but so far they have not been compensated. 

The JUI chief said that after failing to eliminate terrorism in Pakistan, the establishment was now planning to hit targets inside Afghanistan.
