DI KHAN: The convoy of JUI-F chief Molana Fazlur Rehman came under attack in Dera Ismail Khan on Sunday evening, a spokesman for the party told media.
He said the JUI-F chief was going to attend the valima of his son Asjad Mehmood when his convoy was fired upon from two sides near an interchange.
The spokesman said that Molana Fazal remained unhurt in the attack. He demanded that an investigation should be conducted into the incident. The spokesman said that law and order situation in KK and Balochsitan was deteriorating day by day and security agencies were not fulfilling their responsibilities.
However, local police claimed that the the JUI chief was not the target of the firing. The police said that the vehicle of Molana Fazal had stopped for refuelling when the firing incident occurred. The police said they were investigating the incident from all angles.
