WASHINGTON: Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States Rizwan Saeed Sheikh has stated that the recent tensions between India and Pakistan once again brought the Kashmir issue to the forefront of the international stage.
In an official statement, Ambassador Sheikh emphasized that the Kashmir dispute remains a major obstacle to the progress and prosperity of the people of South Asia. He noted that the recent escalation has refocused global attention on this long-standing and unresolved issue.
“The Kashmir conflict has reemerged as a key concern following the latest Indo-Pak tensions, drawing renewed international interest towards a dispute that has remained unresolved for decades,” Sheikh said.
He further added that a high-level Pakistani delegation’s engagements with the U.S. administration, policymakers, and other influential circles would play a significant role in highlighting the urgency of resolving the Kashmir issue.
Ambassador Sheikh reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to seeking a peaceful resolution in accordance with international law and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
