Kashmiris resolve to continue struggle on martyrs’ day

Rallies, demonstrations and protest gatherings arranged by Kashmir Liberation Commission, Hurriyat and religious organizations.

MUZAFFARABAD: Kashmiris on both sides of the Line of Control and world over observed Jammu Martyrs’ Day on Monday to reaffirm their resolve to continue martyrs’ mission till realization of their inalienable right to self-determination, Radio Pakistan reported.

Thousands of Kashmiris were massacred by the forces of Maharaja Hari Singh, Indian army and Hindutva forces in different parts of Jammu region while they were migrating to Pakistan during first week of November in 1947.

In Azad Jammu and Kashmir, rallies, demonstrations and protest gatherings were arranged in all small and big cities of the state under the auspices of Kashmir Liberation Commission, Hurriyat and religious organizations.

In Muzaffarabad, main function of the Yaum-e-Shuhada-e-Jammu will be held under the auspices of Kashmir Liberation Commission.

Similar protest demonstrations and anti-India and pro-freedom rallies have been arranged in Mirpur, Kotli, Bhember, Rawlakot, Bagh, Poonch, Hatiyan, Sadhnothi and Neelum.    

Meanwhile, All Parties Hurriyat Conference leadership has paid rich tributes to the martyrs of Jammu massacre.

Senior APHC leaders, Shabbir Ahmad Shah and Nayeem Ahmed Khan, in separate messages from Tihar Jail said the massacre of Muslims in Jammu in 1947 was the most horrible incident of Kashmir’s history that still haunts Kashmiris.

They said the Kashmiri people will accomplish the mission of their martyrs at all costs.
