Khadija Shah’s letter narrates anguish of PTI women in jail

Handwritten letter days humanity dictates their trial must end.

ISLAMABAD: Khadija Shah, a US national fashion designer and PTI activist, who ended up in jail after the May 9 violence, has managed to send out a letter narrating the anguish and ordeal of her and 17 other women.

The five-page handwritten letter was leaked out of Kot Lakpath jail to her husband and shared on PTI’s social media platforms.

In the letter, Khadija says there are at least six mothers who were dragged out of their homes in front of their small kids and have been anguish in the jail.

She said there were no other near family members to look after most of the women’s families. She said her own five years old daughter was in great distress without her.

The women had never thought that they would end up in such a situation by taking part in the protests following the arrest of PTI chairman and former prime minister Imran Khan on May 9.

These women have been arrested on the charge of arson attacks on military installations, including the house of the corps commander Lahore.

Khadija Shah in her letter says that the women, including herself, had already suffered unimaginable punishment with no hope about an end to their miseries.

In the letter, Shah called upon everyone, “whether you are a PTI supporter or not, humanity dictates that this trial must ve brought to sn end.”
