Kidnapped SHO, subordinates set free by dacoits

SHIKARPUR: Dacoits who kidnapped the station house officer of Shikarpur along with five of his subordinates have let them free after a week.

The dacoits also returned the arms and ammu snatched from the police, it emerged on Tuesday.

After their return, DIG Larkana Javed Jaskani and other police officers met the SHO and other officials though the police could not do anything to recover them from the dacoits.

Sources said that the release of the police officials was made possible through efforts of intelligence agencies.

SHO Mehboob Barohi, his son, under-training police official, and three other officials were kidnapped away from the limits of the Kit Shahu police station on October 11.

A few days ago, caretaker Chief Minister Sindh retired Justice Maqbool Baqar said that the kidnapping of the station house officer (SH) of Shikarpur along with his subordinates was an insult with the state.

He stated this while presiding over a meeting held to review law and order situation in the province.
