ISLAMABAD: Defense Minister Khawaja Asif on Saturday warned that any aggressive action by India would be met with a decisive response, stating that Pakistan’s forces could extend operations as far as Kolkata if necessary.
Speaking to the media, Khawaja Asif accused India of planning a “false flag” operation and attempting to stage acts of terrorism. “India is in the mood to create a fake incident and is trying to stage a drama of terrorism. If India makes any move, we will retaliate, even reaching Kolkata,” he said.
On regional diplomacy, he commented on the ongoing U.S.-Iran negotiations, emphasizing Pakistan’s constructive role in the process but refraining from further commentary. “Pray that Allah grants success to these negotiations,” he added.
Khawaja Asif expressed hopes for peace and unity in the region, urging an end to conflicts and divisions. He recalled India’s past humiliations in military confrontations and stressed that Pakistan has demonstrated strength through its air force operations inside Indian territory.
The statement of the minister came following social media reports about India amassing troops along with its western border with Pakistan.
