PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly has unanimously approved two significant resolutions concerning the founder of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and former Prime Minister, Imran Khan.

The first resolution, presented by PTI member Ubaid-ur-Rehman, calls for a formal meeting between the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Muhammad Suhail Afridi, and Imran Khan. Notably, the resolution received support from members of the opposition as well.

According to the text of the resolution, the meeting is considered essential for fulfilling constitutional responsibilities and serving the broader public interest. It emphasizes that this initiative is undertaken in the welfare of the people of the province and is not influenced by political rivalry or personal differences.

The second resolution, proposed by government member Abdul Salam, approves arrangements for providing medical treatment to Imran Khan at Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital, as well as through consultation with a personal physician.

This resolution also received unanimous approval from the assembly, reflecting a consensus on ensuring the founder of PTI receives timely and appropriate medical attention.

These resolutions come at a critical time, highlighting the assembly’s focus on prioritizing public welfare and constitutional obligations over political or partisan considerations.

They demonstrate a commitment to transparency, consensus-building, and addressing the health and constitutional needs of a prominent national leader in a manner that transcends party lines.
