Lahore Becomes World’s Most Polluted City

LAHORE: Lahore’s air quality has reached hazardous levels, making it the most polluted city in the world today, according to environmental monitoring websites.

The city recorded an Air Quality Index (AQI) of 484, surpassing New Delhi, which recorded an AQI of 289.

Within Lahore, the Wahga area was the most polluted, with an AQI of 814. Other areas also showed dangerously high levels, including DHA with 768, the Civil Secretariat with 695, FC College with 686, Allama Iqbal Town with 678, Ravi Road with 667, and DHA Phase 8 with 615.

Other cities in Punjab, including Gujranwala, Sialkot, Faisalabad, and Multan, were also among the most polluted in the region. Authorities have warned residents to take precautions, as the air remains extremely harmful to health.
