Legendary Singer Asha Bhosle Passes Away at 92

MUMBAI: Legendary Indian playback singer Asha Bhosle has passed away at the age of 92, according to her family.

Her son, Anand Bhosle, confirmed that the last rites will be performed tomorrow evening.

According to Indian media reports, the iconic singer was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai after her condition suddenly deteriorated, reportedly following a heart attack. She had experienced chest pain and was immediately shifted to the hospital for medical treatment.

Earlier, her granddaughter Zanai Bhosle had shared a post on social media platform X, stating that the veteran singer was admitted due to extreme fatigue and a chest infection.

Born on 8 September 1933, Asha Bhosle was widely regarded as one of the most influential and versatile voices in Indian cinema. She delivered numerous timeless hits including “Kajra Mohabbat Wala,” “Radha Kaise Na Jale,” and “Le Gayi.”

Following the news of her passing, tributes poured in from across the Indian film industry and her millions of fans worldwide, expressing deep sorrow and condolences.

She was the younger sister of legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar.
