Levies Post Incharge Martyred In Terror Attack

QILA ABDULLAH: A Levies post in Qila Abdullah came under attack by armed criminals, resulting in the martyrdom of the post in-charge, local authorities confirmed on Wednesday.

According to the Deputy Commissioner of Qila Abdullah, the incident began when a group of armed men were engaged in looting vehicles on the Quetta–Chaman highway.

When their attempt to hijack a passenger van was foiled, the suspects retaliated by launching an assault on the nearby Levies post. During the attack, the post in-charge embraced martyrdom while performing his duty.

The DC added that the assailants fled the scene immediately after the attack, leaving behind one of their vehicles. Local residents later set the abandoned vehicle on fire.

District Police Officer (DPO) of Qila Abdullah stated that the hideout of the armed group, located in the surrounding mountains, has been cordoned off. A search and apprehension operation is underway to capture the gang’s leader, Faqeer Muhammad, either alive or dead.

The DPO noted that the ringleader, Faqeer Muhammad, is wanted by Levies and police in connection with at least 15 murder cases, in addition to various other serious crimes.
