Main accused in Libya boat accident case arrested

ISLAMABAD: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested the main accused in the Libyan boat accident case.

According to the FIA spokesperson, Usman Khan has been arrested from Gujarat. And the name of the arrested accused was included in the Red Book of the Ministry of Interior.

The FIA officials said that the accused had received Rs2.4 million from a citizen for sending him to Europe and the accused was earlier wanted by the FIA in dozens of cases.

According to the spokesperson, the arrested accused has been transferred to the police station FIA. Further investigation against the accused is underway.

It should be noted that on February 5, a migrant boat crashed in Libya, resulting in the death of 16 Pakistanis.
