Independents leading with PML-N & PPP trailing behind

Winners include Nawaz Sharif, Asif Zardari, Shehbaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz, Bilawal Bhutto. Molana Fazal again loses hometown, wins from Pishin, Sirajul Haq, Khattak, Mehmood Khan defeated in NA, PA seats.

ISLAMABAD: Independent candidates backed by PTI have won 91 of National Assembly seats while PML-N and PPP are trailing behind with 63 and 50 seats as results of the National Assembly seats are still being announced by the Election Commission of Pakistan.

According to unofficial results, PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif won from NA-130 Lahore with 170,000 votes  against 115,000 votes  of PTI-backed Dr Yasmin Rashid.

Asif Ali Zardari of the PPPP won from NA-207 Benazirabad with 146,989 votes while Sher Muhammad Rind Baloch could secure 51,916 votes.

Maryam Nawaz also won the NA-119 Lahore seat by scoring 83,855 votes while her rival Shahzad Farooq (ind) bagged 68,376 votes. However, the PML-N supremo was defeated in NA-15 Mansehra by independent candidate Shahzada Gustasib who bagged 105,249 votes against 80,382 of Mr Sharif.

JUI-F chief Molana Fazlur Rehman again lost to PTI-backed Ali Amin Gandapur in Dera Ismail Khan. Gandapur scored 92,616 votes against 59,364 of Molana Fazal. In NA-118, Hamza Shehbaz had defeated independent Alia Hamza with 105,960 votes against 100,803 of the latter.

In KP, PTI deserter Pervez Khattak and his two sons have lost in three Provincial Assembly seats. Gohar Ali Khan won from NA-10 Buner in KP by scoring 110,023 votes against 30,302 votes of ANP’s Abdul Rauf.

PPP chief Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has won from Larkana. Aun Chaudhry of Istehkam e Pakistan Party defeated PTI’s Salman Akram Raja in NA-128 Lahore by bagging 172,576 votes against 159,024 votes of Raja.

Omar Ayub Khan of PTI retuned from NA-18 Haripur with 192,984 votes against PML-N’s Babar Nawaz Khan who bagged 112,389 votes. Noor Alam Khan ok f JUI won NA-28 Peshawar I with 138,389 votes while PTI’s Sajid Nawaz Khan remained second with 65,119 votes.

In Rawalpindi, veterans politicians Sheikh Rashid Ahmad and Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan lost the election. PTI’s Zartaj Gul won NA-185 seat in Dera Ghazi Khan with 84,881 votes independent candidate Mehmood Qadir Khan’s 32,929 votes.

The PML-N also secured NA-123 with over 63,953 votes against PTI-backed independent candidate Afzal Azeem who scored 48,486 votes. PML-N’s Anjum Aqeel Khan won with 81,918 votes from NA-46 Islamabad. Moreover, Ata Tarar won from NA-127. However, PML-N’s Amir Muqam lost in NA-2 Swat to independent Amjad Ali Khan who bagged 88,000 votes against 37,000 of Muqam. PTI-backed Mian Azhar returned from NA-129 Lahore with 103,718 votes.

In Chitral, independent candidates backed by the PTI have won all the three seats – NA-1 and PK-1 and PK-2. In NA-121 Lahore, in a major upset independent candidate Wasim Qadir has defeated Ruhail Asghar by 78,000 to 72,000 votes.

In Rawalpindi, PML-N candidate Danyal Chaudhry has won NA-57. In NA-58 Chakwal, Ayaz Amir backed by PTI has lost to PML-N’s Major Tahir Iqbal who scored over 115,000 votes. Independent candidate Chaudhry Bilal Ejaz defeated PML-N’s Azhar Qayum in NA-81 by bagging 113,000 votes against 95,000 of his rival.

PML-N chief organizer Maryam Nawaz won Lahore’s PP-189 seat with 23,598 votes. PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif has also returned from one national and one provincial assembly seats in Lahore. In NA-151 Multan, Syed Musa Gilani of PPP has won with 79,080 votes while independent Meherbano Qureshi scored 71,650 votes. In NA-17 Abbottabad, independent candidate Ali Khan Jadoon has returned with 97,000 votes against Muhabat Khan of the PML-N who scored 44,000 votes.

PTI backed Ali Muhammad Khan has also secured NA-23 Mardan in Khyber Pakthunkhwa while Atif Khan of the PTI also won from NA-22 Mardan.  Asad Qaiser of the PTI has also won from NA-19 Swabi with 115,635 votes.

In Balochistan, former chief minister Akhter Mengal won his seat of NA-261 with 3,404 votes while PPP’s Sardar Sanaullah Zehri scored 2,871 votes.

So far result of 26 Balochistan Assembly seats, PML-N remained successful on six seats while PPPP and JUI-Pakistan won five each constituencies.

Awami National Party and Balochistan Awami Party emerged victorious on two seats each. Besides, Balochistan National Party-Awami and Jamaat-e-Islami secured one seat each. One independent candidate remained victorious in the election for Balochistan Assembly seats.
