PESHAWAR: The accountant general of Khyber Pakthunkhwa, Dr Akbar Ali Khan, was injured in an attack by an individual at his office, police said on Monday.
Khan reported to the police that he was at his office when the person he identified as Gohar Zaman entered his room without permission and started beating him.
The attacker hit the senior officer with some blunt stuff due to which he sustained injuries to his head and an eye.
In the meantime, staff of his office overpowered the attacker and saved him from further harm.
The police have registered a first information report (FIR) and launched an investigation, but the suspect is yet to be arrested.
It is not yet clear who the attacker was and what was the motive behind the attack.
