SIALKOT: A dispute over filling petrol in a fuel can turned deadly when a customer allegedly opened fire at a petrol pump in the Hajipura area of Sialkot, killing an employee and injuring two others.
According to reports, the incident occurred after a customer had already filled petrol in his vehicle during panic buying and then demanded additional petrol to be poured into a can. When the petrol pump staff refused, an argument broke out between the customer and the employees.
The verbal altercation quickly escalated into violence. During the confrontation, the customer allegedly fired a gun, resulting in the death of one petrol pump worker while two other people were injured.
The injured were immediately shifted to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
After the shooting, the suspect fled the scene. Police have collected evidence and launched a search operation to arrest the attacker.
The incident comes a day after the government announced a sharp increase of Rs55 in petrol prices, which has reportedly led to public frustration and tensions at fuel stations across the country.
