May 9th violence aimed to remove army chief: PTI leader

Usman Dar says Imran Khan hatched conspiracy against Gen Asim Munir twice.

ISLAMABAD: A leader of the PTI who was also a close aide of the jailed former prime minister Imran Khan has said that the May 9th violence in the country was planned by the top brass of the party in order to force the removal of army chief Gen Asim Munir.

Making this claim in an interview with a TV channel, Usman Dar announced to quit the PTI and politics for good.

It may be noted that Dar had gone missing about a month ago and a case had been filed in Sindh High Court for hus recovery.

Dar in the TV interview also claimed that the PTI had made an attempt in October last year to get stalled Gen Munir’s appointment as the army chief, but after failure it again planned to remove him from the post on May 9th this year.

He said these conspiracies were hatched by Imran Khan himself. Imran had asked his party workers to attack army installations in case of his arrest.
