NEW YORK: Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development, Chaudhry Salik Hussain, described overseas Pakistanis as an “invaluable national asset” during a luncheon hosted by the Pakistani American community in New York.
The event was organized in honor of both Minister Chaudhry Salik Hussain and Punjab’s Provincial Minister for Industries, Commerce, Investment, and Skills, Chaudhry Shafay Hussain, says a press release issued by Pakistan’s consulate general in New York.
Addressing the gathering, Minister Salik Hussain emphasized the pivotal role overseas Pakistanis play in the country’s economic and social development. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to addressing their needs through progressive initiatives aimed at maximizing support and facilitation for Pakistanis living abroad.
Provincial Minister Chaudhry Shafay Hussain also spoke at the event, highlighting Punjab’s investor-friendly climate. He noted that the provincial government is actively fostering a business-conducive environment while ensuring basic services are delivered efficiently at the grassroots level.
Consul General of Pakistan in New York Aamer Ahmed Atozai welcomed the ministers and praised the dedication of overseas Pakistanis. He remarked that the diaspora’s contributions continue to strengthen both Pakistan and their adopted countries, especially through economic ties, cultural outreach, and community leadership.
The luncheon brought together a diverse group of Pakistani Americans from various professional fields, showcasing the community’s strong connection to Pakistan’s development agenda.
