ISLAMABAD: Minister for Overseas Pakistanis Chaudhry Salik Hussain has taken notice of the issue of blocking the passports of overseas Pakistanis.
The Pakistan Business Forum France had raised the issue of blocking the passports of overseas Pakistanis in front of Minister Chaudhry Salik Hussain. The minister took immediate notice of the matter and wrote a letter to the Ministry of Interior.
In the letter, the minister said that the matter was highly important and the authorities concerned should resolve it on priority basis. He was of the view that overseas Pakistanis were an asset as they regularly send remittances back home. Such steps of blocking their passports were not only illegal but also discourage the Pakistanis.
The minister said that such discriminatory attitude would not be tolerated. He said all possible measures would be taken to facilitate the overseas Pakistanis including opening a facilitation desks for them.
