ISLAMABAD: In a bid to facilitate Pakistani citizens seeking legal residency in Spain, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has directed relevant authorities to expedite and simplify the verification process for applicants of the Spanish Resident Card.
The new approach is aimed at ensuring a more efficient and accessible application procedure. The announcement was made during a high-level meeting co-chaired by Naqvi and Minister for Overseas Pakistanis Chaudhry Salik Hussain in Islamabad.
Pakistan’s Ambassador to Spain Dr. Zahoor Ahmed provided a detailed briefing on the Spanish Resident Card, outlining the key aspects of the policy.
During the meeting, it was clarified that this initiative is not intended for individuals seeking political asylum, drawing a clear distinction in the scope of the policy.
Chaudhry Salik Hussain welcomed the move, emphasizing that it is a major step toward granting legal status to thousands of Pakistanis residing in Spain. He noted that this development will bring much-needed stability and opportunities for the community, strengthening the ties between the two nations.
