Minister vents anger at CJP, Imran

ISLAMABAD: Minister for Planning and Special Reforms Ahsan Iqbal today called upon Chief Justice of Pakistan Umar Ata Bandial to direct all judges to welcome suspects in the same manner he welcomed PTI Chairman Imran Khan at his Supreme Court appearance on May 11.

“Suspect who had stolen Rs60 billion” from the nation was welcomed by the CJP in an honourable manner and demanded that all suspects be treated in the same manner.

He said the nation should see and realize how one person was treated when he had been arrested in a mega corruption case and needed investigation under the law.

Imran Khan has “come out as a dirty dealer,” he alleged.

Talking about the Al-Qadir Trust case, he said that the ex-premier had claimed that the cabinet had given the approval for the transaction in question.

However, Ahsan alleged, the then-cabinet secretary had informed the government that ex-accountability czar Shehzad Akbar had handed Imran a sealed envelope.

“You (Imran) waved around the envelope and that this important case had also been accepted. And when other ministers inquired about the case, you snubbed them and shut them up,” he said, adding that this was how Imran had gotten the “dirty deal” with Malik Riaz approved by the cabinet.

“Imran sahib, you have come out as a dirty dealer,” he said.
